I wish I was more into the Science Team OT3, but I’m just too deep into WillBev and I don’t have a multishipper’s heart. Which sucks, because Science Team is an absolute fuckin delight.

Also my life would be a lot easier if I didn’t loudly and angrily insist on shipping main characters with side characters of color instead of the main ship. But such is my fate.

stardust-rain got me into the Rivers of London fandom, which is good because those books are very funny and fun to read, but bad because there are maybe 7 people in the fandom on a good day when school is out and the time zones synch up

All those reasons/feelings were me with Hannibal s2. When I invest and actually trust/mostly trust, I take a show fucking up so much harder than I do something I haven’t poured a lot myself into. Sigh.

I will say that sometimes writing extensive original-ish fic- like “let dreamers dream” or your girl!Will- sometimes soothes the sting a little, because there’s something I can point to and go “well, that’s mine. They can’t take that away.” We’re lucky that our OCs/expanded characters (Fleur, Wilhemina Graham) aren’t really part of the source canon (Musketeers doesn’t seem to have plans to bring back any of their guest stars, and THANK FUCKING GOD for that) because at least then we can build our own sandboxes without TPTB coming in to shit in them.
