Skullington appears on the outside as unaffected by the great skeleton war but, in truth, lives in fear everyday for his own life and the lives of his loved ones. Those closest to him are sent into battle everyday with no guarantee weather they will return home. Skullington only distracts himself from the violence by maintaining his daily life as he did before the war. His humor and misplaced jokes only serve to mask his inner pain and his facade of a happy life masks the screams of terror that keep him awake at night.
