Am I excited about the new Skulduggery Pleasant? Yes
Do I give a shit if they're holding hands on the cover? No
Am I still going to enjoy the small amount of the fandom I can actually interact with, where people aren't just hating on the book, author and ships? I'm gonna try to.
I like the new SP title. I'm not disappointed because it's not a cool reference to a poem or whatever. It reminded me of Bon Jovi, but also Dead or Alive are a good band?
If you're chill about SP/ not being ridiculous about the whole thing and hating on every little thing Derek Landy says or does feel free to message to talk about it if you want.
I've shipped valduggery since like maybe book 3? Always when she was older in fics but I still shipped it from then.
I've been a part of online fandoms for it for years. I've seen all the arguments. I used to really enjoy the online community stuff, but every time I try to get into the fandom lately it's just so toxic.
I'm going to preorder the next book once I get paid. I am going to read it the day it comes out. I am going to then reread it over that next week like I have always done. I'm going to probably update TV tropes pages and fanlore. But I don't think I can interact with fans online. Not in the same way at least
I pre-ordered Bedlam the other day and now I can't wait because I've ordered it. I know it exists and I just can't read it yet.
I also have no more space on my Skulduggery shelf ...
Skulduggery Pleasant Headcanons
Just purely so I can keep track of them
The gang take it on themselves to teach Val Gaeilge. The rest of them use it even if it’s a little outdated by modern standards
They have team bonding nights which usually end up in them having an argument over something or another. Monopoly is banned and so is scrabble.
Skulduggery has the best singing voice of the lot of them
Nobody wants to ask about that thing Tanith has going on with Billy-Ray. Especially not in front of Ghastly
For Christmas everyone buy Fletcher copies of Jedward albums, saying his hair is more ridiculous than theirs
They fall asleep (or meditate) in a pile, all on top of each other
Star Wars gets quoted and acted out far too much, epsecially if Gordon is around
Is the fall in love with China thing something that takes into account sexual and romantic orientations? Or is it just a general everyone falls in love with her regardless of that?
This is the first book in the series (excluding #1) that I'll have got after the release date because for some reason ordering from Waterstones meant it's coming from Yorkshire when I live in Scotland.
I could go to the local Waterstones right now and buy it. Yet I won't get mine until tomorrow of all things.
