▌█ OPENSTARTER
Shiloh had been staring out of the window of the dining for some time at the snow it was beautiful, yet felt threatening in it’s vastness and it piled higher and higher. Her mind ran over the many survival skills she’d learned to use in dealing with the snow, her father’s voice listed them one by one in her mind until they were interrupted with a loud humming that quickly fell with a decrescendo into silence. The lights around them shut off, silence quickly replaced with another low hum as the generators kept the school from crashing.
Despite the nature of her abilities, Shiloh’s powers had manifested from her fear of darkness. She’d grown comfortable in the shadows when they were under her control. She had even gained a preference for sitting in dark rooms, but when her entire environment darkened with no warning it sent her heart racing in her chest. Shadows, even darker than the surrounding area began to spread out from her feet as she seemed to stare, frozen, out of the window at the bright snow.
