~Headcanons~
(Been listening to a CERTAIN song from Encanto (you all know the one), and it’s been giving me some ideas for the Future AU and the kiddos, especially as far as Akita’s involved.
His name and presence are definitely mud in Boyd’s family, although while a lot of the adults and older adults either had experience dealing with him or were told about it from those who had, the kiddos definitely see him as more of a boogeyman than anything. They’ve been told the stories, but they never experienced any of it themselves or even met Akita themselves.
So they tend to overexaggerate the kind of things he can do, as young children would for someone that they’ve only heard about but never met themselves. He’s a terrifying entity, who lives underground and can see all. He can turn mere machines into his playthings. At least he could before Daddy proved to be too strong and broke free of his hold because he was so strong and tough and also Uncl’ Bulb punched him really hard in the face and it was the coolest thing ever (their words).
The only one who harbors any genuine fear for the man is Nicky, if only because...well, he’s a man who could control a robotic child to do things against their will. He is a robotic child. Of course he’s going to be more scared than his organic siblings, who like to make funny jokes and jabs about the evil dog man who lives underground.
But of course, Boyd is always there to reassure Nicky whenever he gets TOO frightened that he’s always going to be there to protect him and his siblings. Whether it’s from Akita or anyone else who wants to hurt them.)
