After everything that happened so long ago, Bond was always distant from Kale and James. He was there, or thereabouts, but always lingering on the periphery. It was the only way he could manage to keep them safe while continuing with his mission which held such personal significance to him. Sentiment, however, always had other ideas. Sentiment had been a driving factor of his behaviour for such a long time that he was certain at some point it would also result in his downfall. Having a family was always a pipe dream and it just so happened that not having Vesper around to see it only made it worse so he decided it was best for everyone all around.
Even then it hadn’t stopped him from being curious or keeping tabs on the both of them. He knew James was in America and from all accounts was thriving there. Kale, however, was closer by and easier for him to reach out to if he ever needed. Today would be such a day. He’d discovered that she had a passion for learning to fly and given that he was her father he wanted to give her this experience -- at least just once. Bond wondered if it would ease the pain of the secret he’d carried for their sake. While he was aware that they were his children, they were not aware he was their father.
Turning up at her home, he got out of his Aston just as they agreed and he waited outside to see her.
