welcome to sky high !
it’s embarrassing being known as the daughter of one of the worst villains on the planet, although she’s never even met the guy. raven was given the name rachel roth after she had turned five years old, her mother wanting to hide her identity from the person she despises the most. she was the product of something evil, something so cruel and monstrous. raven couldn’t believe that her mother was so calm and soft, and then her father was so destructive and manipulating. trigon has been searching for his daughter for years, and he won’t find her due to her mother’s protection. and even though arella was more human than anything, but the safety she provided her daughter was more than humanly possible. when raven had turned ten years-old, her mother had began to tell her about the powers that lied within her. at first she didn’t believe her, laughing at how ridiculous her mother was being. but one day raven had gotten angry at one of her classmates for pulling her hair, and the rage deep within had unlocked something wanting to crawl out ---- the young girl had manipulated a permanent marker in mid air, all that surrounded it was pure darkness and she couldn’t see the object any longer but something told her that it was still there. with just the tiniest of movements, raven had directed the dark object at the other girl. the teacher saw everything, and warned arella of her daughter’s powers. soon enough her mother was teaching her how to control her powers, along with a friend of hers named azar. the man had so much control over his emotions and his powers that raven began to idolize him, wanting to be able to be like him one day. after a couple of years of training and controlling, raven had learned she didn’t only withstand one power, but three. empathy, telepathy, and darkness manipulation. she was able to control not only other’s people emotions, but her soul as well, creating a limbo between her body and her soul : which could leave her body if she concentrated enough but that took too much strength, strength that raven didn’t have just yet. with telepathy, she could reach into someone’s mind, and find the darkest thoughts, and send them any thoughts of her own as well. she was amused of having that power, knowing that she could take an advantage of any situation she was in. and lastly she had darkness manipulation --- a power she inherited from her father, who had the same power ---, and with this power she was able to turn anything touched by light into dark, being able to move it with her hands, or her mind, whichever she found more useful. her mother warned her, nonetheless, not to let her dark power be known by just anyone, only the one’s she truly trusted. and after being informed about the high school of the mutants, arella sent her daughter straight there. and raven was directed into the hero category, because of her advantage of a person with both emotion and mind, not showing her dark manipulation to anyone, not even the teacher that control the casting of heroes and sidekicks. she goes by rachel roth, and no one wants to get on her bad side.
