"Skylaaa! What brings you to Humilau City?" Marlon knew that Mistralton was pretty far from Humilau. Then again, Skyla was a pretty good pilot and she must travel to regions farther than the distance between the two cities. A smile lit up his face. "Are you takin’ a break to go swimmin’ for a bit?"

Skyla embraced her friend and gave a laugh in return, grinning from ear to ear as she looked up to meet the familiar gaze of her best friend.
"It really has. I mean, any time spent away from you seems like an eternity to me! Really!" she blurted, and her cheeks flushed a deep shade of crimson. How embarrassing. An eternity? Did she really just say that?
Skyla turned back to look at her friend, and she figured that she was probably as red as an apple. She didn’t want to dwell on the fact that she had just word-vomited, again, on Elesa; there were so many other things to converse about, and so many other things she could’ve said to the model that would’ve been a hell of a lot worse.
"Mistralton’s great! The airport sure does keep me busy! It’s crazy," she finally replied, nervously combing a strand of loose hair behind her hair. Why did this conversation feel so… awkward? She could easily tell just by looking at Elesa that she seemed a bit tense—- reserved, even. Perhaps she was still operating in her ‘model-mode’; that is, all work and business.
Skyla’s suspicions, however, were quickly lifted when she heard Elesa crack the first… egregious pun. She loved Elesa to death, but those puns were a bit overwhelming, especially when she considered the ironic context behind some of them. However, as her best friend, Skyla knew more than anyone that when things get nothing short of awkward, leave it to Elesa to crack a bad joke. Skyla laughed in response, but not because of the pun itself, but because Elesa seemed to find it absolutely hysterical. Yet, as bad as those puns were, Skyla couldn’t help but smile to herself, because she knew very well how much they brightened Elesa’s day; there wasn’t much else anyone could do to make her laugh like that. Skyla’s face broke into a wide grin at this realization and she giggled, squeezing her friend’s hand eagerly.
"Oh, Elesa, you know I’d love to!" she exclaimed, and she laughed and pointed at her friend. "Listen to yourself! You sound like a Spoink or something!" Skyla teased.
"An eternity? Skyla, please. You're ridiculous." Elesa felt herself give another laugh, knowing well that she was only further embarrassing her friend. She liked to bother her, though--Elesa thought the pilot was rather endearing when she was flustered. "That's awful sweet of you to say!"
It had been a good while since the two of them had had a chance to catch up. The model had just returned from a busy month filled with traveling, fashion shows, and copious amounts of gym appointments. And of course, she knew that Skyla herself was plenty busy with her own duties. Two women such as themselves simply didn't have the time to make very many plans. It was a shame, but it only helped to fuel the model's appreciation for her best friend. Because no matter what the circumstances were, Skyla was there. No questions asked.
A sigh of relief escaped the model as Skyla, too, eased up and joined her in her laughter. Maybe it took a bad pun or two to bring about such a mood, but it was well worth it. "Well, good! There's a cafe right in town, isn't there?" Her eyes shone eagerly, reflecting the inner enthusiasm she felt at the thought of getting to spend time with her best friend. "I heard they serve a latte varieties of hot drinks!" She paused, sheepishly grinning at her friend. She knew Skyla would probably give another shake of her head, because the pilot didn't appreciate such humor.
