The girl was curled up in the corner of what she believed to be the main lounge. If it wasn’t so dark, anyone could easily see the dried tears on her cheeks. With her legs brought up close to her, Skyler buried her face in her knees, refusing to believe what was happening here. There was no way she was stuck here, it just had to be a nightmare. If only her phone would work, she’d contact someone, but the reception was long gone. All she’d been doing, for who knows how long, was curl up in the corner of different rooms and cry, trying to escape whatever evil was after everyone here. She was so on edge lately, she’d jumped at every noise. And so of course, when she heard some footsteps getting closer, she was startled, covering her mouth with her hands to avoid making any sound.
