Black Door || Jer & Sky
Jeremiah turned his key out of the ignition in one quick movement of his hand. Every minute he wasted seemed to be another minute that his worry grew for Skylar. He couldn't seem to make sense of her texts and had jumped into his car as soon as she had given him an address to work with. Whatever it was, nothing was worth driving her out of town. It wasn't as if the two had never spent a minute apart. They had spent months at a time, even a few years on separate occasions. But there was always the promise of seeing each other again.
He felt almost sick as his eyes fell on the motel, his stomach dropping. Darkened doors and windows. This was the type of place you drove right past, looking for the next motel down. It was nothing to stir Jeremiah up, especially after the places he'd seen. But he had a bad feeling about all of this. He made his way up the stairs quickly for room 3B. After pounding his fist against the door a few times, Jeremiah pressed his forehead to the door. "Skylar, let me in," he said, straining to hear her reply.
