When I was younger, my biological mother used to make things out of polymer clay as part of her jewelry making hobby. It's something I've always wanted to try but wasn't allowed to touch when I was with her. Recently.. several years later.. I've been sitting on this idea but haven't managed to figure out how to execute.
I've had this idea to use Skyrim herbs for witchcraft. Obviously, a lot of them don't exactly exist in our world so I had the idea of making them out of clay. Thing is.. how would that work? You can't consume them in a potion like you would a Skyrim potion nor make them into an oil or.. really much of anything.
But! You can make them into charms. You can put them into a jar with the intentions you need and carry it with you or you can even imbue the clay herb with its intentions and use it in a sort of crystal grid!
Personally, I think the first idea might work better, at least it's the method I'd probably know best since I've never worked with grids before, but I do think either method could work.
Inspired by Skyrim! I know there’s a Moon Sugar recipe by @insertcheesywitchypunhere, but I wanted to add a little bit of flavor to the recipe to tweak it a little bit! (Shoutout to the original Moon Sugar post)
Ingredients:
Sugar
Vanilla Extract (or Vanilla Pods)
Mint
Grind mint (and vanilla pod, if applicable) into a powder with mortar & pestle. Mix into your sugar with a clean spoon or chopstick. Slowly add one or two drops of vanilla extract (if you didn’t use the pod) into the sugar while stirring.
Place the sugar in a bowl and set it outside or on a windowsill during a full moon. Allow it to soak overnight.
Pour the sugar in an airtight container or jar. Keep it in the container with dried orange peel for extra Khajiit inspiration, or a clean and charged tumbled moonstone for more magical kick.
Lore: Moon Sugar traditionally has a speedy/druggy effect in The Elder Scrolls lore, and having a caffeinated effect would be the most authentic. Moon Sugar was trafficked by the Khajiit of the moon-soaked deserts of Elseweyr, and can be found by many traveling traders throughout the kingdoms.
these arent so much spells, but more like focuses for minor energy work. i just call them spells because im not sure what else to call them.. but, anyway!
these particular thu’um spells dont require any physical components since they use your own energy. however, if you want to use physical items, it would likely be a bit stronger that way! ive seen people make thu’um spells before, but they all have physical components that i personally cant acquire, so i thought id think up some that dont require any!
to perform these spells, follow these steps:
put yourself into a meditative state in a good calm place. with practice, this can be done in normal or intense situations as well
focus hard on the effect that youre looking for in the shout. visualize it happening to you
focus on the words in the shout. visualize the words’ power
shout the words, whether its using your mouth or in your head. shout it with feeling. release all the energy youve built up through the words
thats it!!
and here are the shouts, their meanings, effects, and imagery associated with them! i didnt make stuff for all of them, but heres most of them!
