As Makoto emerges from the elevator to Fibonacci’s topside, the first thing she notices are all the cannons lining the canyon’s edge. The second thing she notices is the signs for fireworks shows, thank god. For a second she thought they were going to war.
“Maybe I can catch them after work?” she murmurs to herself. It’s been a while since she’s seen fireworks, so maybe she could invite someone along. Make it a nice evening out with some friends.
She stops behind a rope barrier meant to block the cannons off from pedestrians, eyeing the cannons. Aren’t they kind of close? And isn’t that... isn’t that guy fiddling with something he shouldn’t?
Makoto trots over to the man touching the cannons. He’s dressed way too casually to actually be a city worker, so she leans over the rope to get a better look in case she needs to pick him out of a lineup.
“Hey, are you supposed to be doing that?” she says, hands on her hips. “You don’t look like you work for the city. Maybe don’t mess with things that... explode?”
