Wuxia combined with Cosmere

I really cannot recommend the Cradle series by Will Wight enough, guy is a self published indy author who 5 years ago was told that none of his ideas would sell and today with the release of his 8th book in his third series he topped Amazon’s Top 100:

That’s not just top fiction or top fantasy, that’s Top 100 all genre’s, as an indy author that’s nuts. 

The basic story of Cradle is that it follows the exploits of Wei Shi Lindon, an “Unsouled” or “non-magic” main character in a world where EVERYONE is born with at least some ability to cultivate power. You think it’s going to follow the standard trend that style of book where he figures out some sneaky way around his lack in ability and it certainly lets you believe that for the first few chapters. 

Then BAM, all of a sudden it becomes a multiversal story similar Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere with familiar far reaching consequences and Lindon has 30 years to figure out how to save his family against forces that literally level mountains and as a 16 year old he can barely stand up to the average 6 year old in his home.
