I finally got a chance to finish up this Ballora edit. This is actually a repurposed edit from last year. The original song for it was Poupée de cire, poupée de son by France Gall. Although I think the song sounds beautiful, I scrapped the edit because I found out more of the backstory to it. I thought it would be insulting for me to use this song, knowing what France went through with Serge Gainsbourg.
A couple months after scrapping the original edit, I found this song, and I fell in love with it immediately. As always any constructive criticism is appreciated and I hope you enjoy the edit!!
Lyrics, since it’s kind of hard to see them (sorry if the English translation is wrong, I tried 😞):
Nothing has changed.
(Rien n'est changé)
We could do it again,
(On a beau le répéter)
but you and I know too well
(Mais toi et moi savons trop bien)
that this is the end.
(Que c'est la fin.)
Why pretend
(Pourquoi faire semblant)
that we don't know,
(De ne pas savoir,)
and what's the point of pretending
(Et à quoi ça sert de faire semblant)
that we don't see?
(De ne pas le voir?)
Nothing has changed.
(Rien n'est changé)
Everything is like it used to be.
(Tout est comme par le passé,)
But you and I know too well
(Mais toi et moi savons trop bien)
that this is the end.
(Que c'est la fin,)
That this is the end.
(Que c'est la fin.)
