Slamdance is back with two in person events for 2021! If you can go to Miami or Joshua Tree, don’t miss these events. Here are the details from their release: Ready to see independent films on the big screen again? Slamdance Miami is coming this October 28-30, 2021! Celebrating emerging filmmakers from Central and South America, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Florida, Slamdance Miami is different than anything we've done before. The festival’s programming is a fully collaborative endeavor between Slamdance, its alumni, and Miami's own arts leaders. This coalition has selected 18 films from filmmakers in 9 countries. Slamdance Miami’s opening night feature film is Malpaso, directed by Héctor M. Valdez from the Dominican Republic. A complete list of films is available on the Slamdance Miami website. The festival also includes two new short films that embody Slamdance's Unstoppable program, which focuses on creators with visible and nonvisible disabilities. We're honored to provide a platform for these stories. Participants have two options for viewing the festival.
