i watched every pre-2009 season of degrassi: tng as a teenager
i watched every season of slasher as an adult
somehow, it took me until today to realize that this is the same person:
My Top 12 LGBT Horror Characters
12. Amy Chao (played by Rosie Simon) from Slasher: Solstice
TW: death, childhood trauma, murder
*spoilers for Slasher: Solstice*
While Amy is a favorite of mine, compared to the others on this list, she is a relatively minor character on her show.
“Slasher: Solstice” is specifically the third season of a horror anthology show called “Slasher”. (Please check out this AWESOME show). Each season tells a different story with different sets of characters, but all of them are bloody, character driven whodunits. Season three is about the mystery surrounding the murders of tenants in an apartment building where Amy lives.
Poor Amy was not dealt the best hand in life. First, as a child, she was the sole survivor of a car accident that killed her parents. Later, as an adult, she accidentally runs over her neighbor (WHO was on the run from a knife-wielding maniac!). Then, a year later, Amy is the first to discover the corpse of her obnoxious hipster boyfriend, who was murdered with a COFFEE BEAN DISPENSER!! What did she do to deserve to live through all these traumas?
Even before the killer targeted her building, Amy’s outlook on life was drastically changed since her parents’ deaths. While she managed make a decent career out of professional gaming and video game beta testing, her childhood trauma made her numb to other aspects of life. The only place that made her feel alive was the world of virtual reality.
Although, I am not sure if this show did an accurate representation of gamers or gaming addiction. Yet, Rosie Simon’s performance in the show made me enjoy her character through her moments of fear, numbness, sadness, and pleasure. Sadly, I wish we saw more of these great acting moments if the details of Amy’s emotional scars were given more than one episode.
I may not be into gaming, but I would’ve happily played a video game just to hang out with her.
Next
it’s 11pm and I’m thinking about the ending of slasher: solstice
Let's be honest here we all wanna fuck the killer
Today’s LGBT+ Character is:
Amy Chao from Slasher; Solstice-Asexual
why is every killer reveal on this show so ridiculously stupid
