No Australian with a human heart should purchase a mask allegedly made by Uighur slave labour in China according to former Labor MP Michael Danby. There are reports some masks available in Australia were produced in China by forced Uighur labour. The Uighur population in the Xinjiang province of China have allegedly undergone mass persecution by the Chinese government, with private footage recently released showing hundreds of Uighurs led onto trains in chains. “What’s happening over there is a crime against humanity,” Mr Danby told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. “It has allegories to the Second World War. “Anything anyone can do here to disassociate themselves from China’s activities with the Uighurs ought to be done.” Image: AP
