"I'll probably be late again, but don't worry! I'm spending most of my birthday up Hakone. That counts as practice if I miss tomorrow, right?" he chuckled. "Thank you, Toudou-san."
The sun shown dazzling rays that speckled the road through the multitude of trees lining their town roads. It was a gorgeous day, early summer, and the leaves gleamed like emeralds against the blue blue sky.
He was in his casual shorts and a t-shirt, perfectly fitting for their fair weather. The cellphone in his pocket vibrated incessantly. He picked it up and read the screen, then shielded his eyes to quickly glance around.
Did he get lost again?
Were he on a bike, finding Toudou would be a cinch. But they were going into town that day, and walking would be better. If only he was fast at walking. And the flat roads were boring.
Manami pulled out his phone and dialed the senior's number. He puffed his cheeks and listened to the dial tone, staring innocently up at the sky.
"Toudou-san?"
