The streets were pitch black as Esmeralda looked around, grabbing her skirt so she could run easier. Where-ever she was, the new place was enormous, and also she had met no one yet, she could not help but smile. She was away from Paris. Not much could bring down her mood at that moment. Laughing softly she span herself around, a large smile on her lips as she danced alone in the moonlight, the cloak around her petite frame falling as she twirled around in the darkness, her laughter echoing in the silent streets
Reunions of Family Ties | | Stefan and Aurore
He had returned to the castle. The prince had returned. He was here, now, in this very castle. Stefan should be happy about this- no, he should be overjoyed, as a matter of fact. His son, sent away for his own protection, had returned to the castle and for the first time in years, he would be able to lay eyes on the young prince; to see him, to touch him, to remind himself that he still had a son and heir who was healthy and real.
But the thoughts that entered the king's mind were not in any way happy thoughts. Aurore had not yet survived past his sixteenth birthday, which that the curse was still real, waiting to take effect and take his son from him once more, this time permanently. How had the prince been allowed to return? Those idiot fairies had failed him, that much was obvious. One simple task: keep the boy away for sixteen years and one day. One simple task and they had failed in the most miserable of ways.
As a figure appeared in the doorway, Stefan pulled himself from his own head, shaking away his thoughts. His gaze traveled upward from the floor, eventually finding Aurore's own. "You should not be here," the king said at last. "It is not safe for you here. You must return with your aunts to the cottage in the wood. It is safe there. They will protect you." He was sending his son away once more, as though it had not been difficult enough the first time; but what other choice did he have? He must protect Aurore from Maleficent's curse. The prince was not safe in the castle. It was dangerous here.
