How did this even happen? The boy wondered as he looked down at the dormouse. Well it’s not that he could really see where she was at though, it was pretty dark, but he did see an outline which helped. He huffed obviously annoyed. 

“Would you back up a little? you’re too close!” he said. “We’re stuck until someone finds us.”

     SEEING OTHER Chains in a human form was rare. When they were in the depths of the Abyss, they hunted their kin in their original, monstrous form, parody of animals and doll-like figures hissing and growling at each other. Black King had to be one of the few (if not the only one) with just a hybrid form, not completely human yet not completely monstrous either. He often wondered why, but it never was his main concern. Staying alive was.

     Thus, he was quite surprised to see a Chain lying in her human form (a child; how peculiar) on the water at the bottom of the Abyss. Meters above her, Black King flew about her for a while, trying to figure out whether she was harmless or setting a trap for him. After long minutes, he dared fly down, never looking away from her. He would not be so stupid to let his guard down, even when the danger was apparently nonexistent. 

     Yet. He might be mistaken, but it looked like she was fast asleep.
