if she had had any sort of shame, she might have returned to her apartment that night and felt embarrassment at how she had acted and what she had said. after all, he was an educator and she was simply a student. yet there was nothing simple about celeste donahue and she was determined to prove it every chance she got. their first class she was front and center like always, though she rolled her eyes during his diatribes and made sure she looked less than interested in whatever he was rambling on about. it was petty, yes, but no one could ever say she was someone above it all.
in secret, she was working. before, she had wanted to seduce him to best her classmate; now she was determined to be a damn good actress in spite of him. he was nothing more than a detractor (if albeit cute), a critic, just another person in her path that she had no qualms about plowing through to get her way.
so going out didn't seem like the best idea because the auditions were tomorrow and she still didn't feel the most confident, but she had been holed up in her apartment when she wasn't in class and she was due for some social interaction. things had been fine initially as she people watched, judging from her seat as people had a nasty habit of wearing the wrong thing and thinking they looked good. she was more than content sitting alone as she nursed her drink but then some idiot who thought he had a chance approached her despite her very obvious disinterest. before she had a chance to give him a lashing with her words, he was falling over himself and spilling his cheap drink all over her front. "you imbecile," she gritted out, face contorted in a dark mixture of anger and disgust. "this blouse is worth more than whatever you make a month and it's now ruined." the cheap bar napkins were doing nothing and she stood up in a huff, making sure to shoulder the lowlife for good measure as she made a beeline for the bathrooms.
"move. hello, move. part the seas." there was nothing kind nor courteous as she made her way through the crowd, annoyed no one noticed the very dire emergency she had found herself in. the poorly lit bathrooms did nothing to help her, and she let out a sigh as she looked up at the tacky ceiling, wondering who did she fuck over in a past life for this kind of luck. a few more dabs and she deemed the garment ruined, which felt like the perfect excuse to continue drinking and telling anyone who approached her to fuck off. she might even say it with a smile. back at the bar, she ordered her favorite drink and felt a presence sidle in next to her. mouth open to deliver the opening line, she groaned when she saw who it was. "just my fucking luck," she muttered, thinking maybe she should have just stayed home.
ready to deny this man and any truce he might be wanting to delve out, she was more than surprised when she felt his hand on her skin in a way that was very unteacherly-like. it was obvious that whatever was in that glass was making him feel good and she was silent as he talked, debating her course of action. it would be so easy to give in, effectively achieving her original goal, but that was no fun. attention wasn't something he struggled to get, which meant that celeste wasn't going to be one of the ones who gave in easily. with a saccharine sweet smile, she reached down the length of her body until her hand was closing around his wrist, letting him think just for a second she was encouraging his exploration. "didn't have enough the other day?" she asked before she tugged his hand away, letting it fall between them.
"because i meant what i said. so don't come to me now that you think i'm easy and you've been blueballed by your wife." his light threat was more enticing than it had any right to be but celeste wouldn't give in so easily. even with her heels she was barely at eye level with his shoulders, which were at the perfect level for her to poke into. "wifey-poo isn't making things exciting for you?" she asked with a faux-pout. "poor baby. i bet you're so skilled at manual stimulation." her eyebrow rose as she looked between them, letting her imagination run wild for just a moment before she was looking him in the face again. "i can push you to the end of the world and you won't do anything, so your words mean nothing." maybe she was pushing him on purpose but she was curious now, wondering just how far she could go before he cracked.
