It's a day with the possibility of answering asks! How do you approach a second draft? What are the parameters you're looking to fill this time? How much is editing and how much is rewriting?
a second draft? what is this thing you speak of? if i'm writing a second draft usually i'll take one of two routes 1) complete rewrite. the plot has changed. the characters might have the same names, the world has some similarities, but i rewrite basically every word or 2) light editing. this is more for short stories. maybe rewrite very short sections i'm actually rewriting a chapter of a longer story right now (weird for me. but i found my fanfic wasn't lore consistent) but i don't view it as a second draft. the story is unfinished, and has been in a perpetual state of editing
