Wah!!!! That cliffhanger was so cruel!!!!!!!! So mean!!!!!! This chapter was so good!!! The Han and Hyunjin kiss was sooooo tasty!!!! She brought them to the nest and got naked (such big steps I’m so proud of her)!!!!! I can’t wait to see how this plays out next week, I think the waiting is going to kill and I’ll only be brought back by the next chapter!!!!!
My question is how often are nest materials cleaned (she mentioned being able to catch a whiff of Chan and after this things are going to be a bit messy), I know the nest is supposed to smell like the pack so how do they balance that with keeping it clean?
Sometimes when I split long chapters in two I choose a spot that makes me go, “Aww yeah, that’s satisfying, I think that will be nice for readers 🥰” and sometimes I pick a spot that makes me go, “Mwahahahaha!” And this week’s was the latter 🫶
I think nest maintenance probably varies by person, just like with beds! So you might have an omega friend who only gets very easy-wash materials and washes everything every time they go in the nest, like clockwork; and then you might have another omega friend who is kind of depression-nest-gremlin-ing it and should probably be dragged out of that dirty comforter kicking and screaming. Relatedly I think general cleanliness standards are about equal to our world too — so people change bedding often if they’re using the nest a lot, but maybe sheets more often than blankets; you’ll probably change them more when it’s hot out, or change right away if you have sex; and probably in more humid environments like sk it’s pretty standard to wash often and air bedding out even when it doesn’t need a full wash. That kind of thing? 😊
In a normal pack setting, part of making up the nest is gathering materials that smell like pack! It’s not something you’re entitled to necessarily as a pack member, especially if your omega is pissed at you, or in larger packs — but in little ones like RONpack, standard nest replenishment procedure would probably involve stripping and washing bedding, walking around gathering scented items (clothes and blankets and whatnot), and recruiting eager helpers to put the whole thing back together and make it smell like home again
Though that implies a routine that isn’t established in our story yet! Actually in general RONpack is kind of weird in that 1) MC does not live at the house and uses the nest sparingly, but also 2) the boys are pretty unwilling to go in without her presence and explicit approval. The latter isn’t unusual for a new delicate situation like this I think but it makes for a more complicated dynamic… I think they probably would strip/wash the linens without her if they needed washing, but I don’t think they’d set the nest up again if she weren’t there, at least at this point. It takes a lot actually for them to go in when she didn’t invite them hahahaha
