In true ADHD 🤝 Autism fashion, it's dangerous to hand me a pen, specifically the retractable ones, because I cannot resist the stim of clicking it in and out incessantly. When I was in school, I was specifically not allowed to have pens because I'd annoy the shit out of my peers accidentally.
Oh and creaky doors in video games. A fellow ADHD friend and I will do this at each other, especially when we are waiting on something and getting impatient, and it's so fucking funny every time it happens. Like it's never annoying when YOU do it, but when another person does it's like: "Okay okay! I get it! I'm hurrying, I swear! 😂"
And when I'm thinking really hard, or am doing some really immersive imaginative deep dive, there's a very good chance I'll spring to my feet and pace. Sounds will accompany it too depending on if I'm in the middle of a mental action sequence or if I just need to verbalize a thought. Hums (both monotone and melodic), clicking tongue, flexing my middle ear (tensor tympani) muscle to "rumble" to myself are all pretty common... Though I generally do it only when no one is around because I get self-conscious with an audience.
More common stims like tactile and olfactory are an every day occurrence and are so varied that I don't think I could cover them all. Nail biting is the more obvious, but I keep my nails short to avoid that (though that doesn't stop me from nipping at the skin instead 😑) and as for scenting all I know is I have a very good sense of smell and take pride in that. I'm ALWAYS sniffing at stuff.... Buuuuut it can be a pain in the ass though, especially for very strong chemical scents like perfumes or trash or the general unwashed funk of humanity. Yuck.
All in all, it's pretty active up in here, and it's interesting to learn more and more about it as time goes on. Just funky little brains doing funky little things :)
