Today I finally recieved my backer rewards for the Homestuck Kickstarter. The fourth 4/13 anniversary of Homestuck is off to a good start.
Homestuck for Valentines Day
I have to say my Valentines day was both the best day ever and the worst day ever. Let's focus on the good things though, because that's more important and no one cares about the bad things. I know this is a big of a late post to be talking about Valentine's day, but I wanted some time to test things out first because guess what I got! Okay, yeah don't. It will take too much time.
I got my Homestuck kickstarter rewards. That's right folks. Woot. I'm so happy about this because it arrived on Valentine's day so it was like a Valentine's gift for me. Huzzah. Is there anything better on Valentine's day than to be alone so you can roll in your spoils? No, no there isn't. Stop telling me I'm kidding myself because I'm not. Anyways, let's talk a bit about what I got.
I got the Seer-Slick pack combo mainly because I used to have an old deck of tarot cards that I've overused. So as soon as the Seerpack became an option I knew I was getting it to replace my old deck of cards and you know, who doesn't need a deck of playing cards? They're essential to everyone's lives.
I personally really like the printing job on the cards. Not only are they thing enough to shuffle easily (unlike my old deck) but they are also very smooth and a reasonable size for Tarot cards. There is, however, there are a couple of things that urks me. I feel like most everyone else who got this pack doesn't say anything about it because they didn't read tarot before. For one, the edges aren't laminated so that means the paper was laminated first and then cut so that means the edges actually nick easily which sucks because tarot card go from hand to hand. In fact, I have only used these once and they have nicks all over them. Next, my cards came with a bend in half my deck. I don't know why, but they did. Also, the little booklet that tells you what each card means has to be in the box or else there is too much room without it and you end up crushing the box. Yet the worst part is the back. The back of the cards should be like playing cards. You should be able to slip in upside down or right side up and the back should look the same because you aren't supposed to know if the card is reversed before you flip it. That was a bummer. Also, this probably isn't important but I'll tell you anyways, some of the cards are different from the preview so I'll show you that eventually.
Next up are the bags. I want to talk about them because I saw someone raving about them and I literally just shook my head. No. It's just... not that the bags are bad since this sin't about the quality of what we got since this is a kick starter thing, but honestly man, the bags hold a lot in volume, but they're polyester woven bags. I've had my experiences with these types a bags and I can go ahead and tell you that it isn't pretty. They tear really easily and don't take much in stress. Also the bags straps are kind of short for tote bags, so it'll be completely under arm. Whatever. Oh and I forgot to mention this earlier, but I'm totally talking about the squiddle and midnight crew bag. I don't have much to say about the homestuck logo bag. It's... cotton and small and I don't know what to say since I have the other two which are bigger.
One thing I'm incredibly satisfied with are the t-shirts. I'm actually a small person so the small size doesn't actually fit me well. But it's not too big and I'm used to not fitting in the shirts. The thing that makes me most satisfied is the material though. The start off really stiff and unhappy but they are from the same brand my school used to get our band shirts from so as long as your throw it in the wash once, it'll get soft and comfy.
I think the last thing I want to talk about is my Offical OTP patches. I got... Sagittarius and Dirk. That just makes me feel... no. Like... all my noes, you can have them. I don't know what to say because I don't particularly like Equius or Horuss or Dirk... *Prepares for all the Dirk lovers flares* I mean... It's not that I have anything really against them, but it's just that I don't particularly like them. Yet, the good thing is they're easy to ship. I mean, they're totally two horsies. Uhhh, maybe it's not that I'm supposed to actually ship them, but Homestuck wants me to watch MLP.
In any case, I have a lot of bad to say because I'm not a happy person, but overall I'm content with what I have. So, how do you all like your Homestuck Rewards?
