As a Noragami lover, I'm glad you're enjoying it!! :3 Any thoughts on the characters so far?
Mmmmmm, so many thoughts, and I’m only 3 episodes in!
I love how spunky Hiyori is. I like that her reaction to her “sudden superpower affliction” is to really get in there and figure it out and just embrace it. Also I’m really digging her character design, especially the shade of pink for her eyes and her awesome spirit tail. And I do appreciate the running gag of her body just randomly dropping out from under her at the wrong moments, haha. I’m excited to see how she delves into her new supernatural world.
Yato is...I can’t decide if I feel more amused by or bad for him. That poor god just really wants his own shrine! I feel like I’m not far enough in yet to have a solid opinion on him so far, because there hasn’t been any backstory on him yet. He’s still sort of an enigma in the grander sense of the story. There have been these little tidbits of dialogue that have caught my attention for him, but at face value I still enjoy how he’s just all “...Five yen.” to every problem in life, haha. (And I don’t care what Hiyori says, his scarf is cool!)
I really like Yukine so far, but right now more in the general sense of liking the group dynamics with him added in. I could tell from the art, him with his hands shoved in his pockets kinda slouched, that he was gonna be either the chill, nonchalant type or the petulant child type, and I’m totally okay with him being the second. Though I haven’t seen much of him, he intrigues me. I’m very interested in finding out his tragic backstory (which I know he must have), and how his relationships with Yato and Hiyori, respectively, develop. I feel like there’s really good potential with him.
Overall I’m just really impressed with the show so far. The music is killer (like I said in the other post, it reminded me immediately of Soul Eater, who also had killer music) and the fight scenes especially are fantastic. Needless to say, the animation is beautiful. Basically this show is exactly why I shouldn’t have been slacking off on keeping up with anime for the past several years. I’ve been missing out! But you know what? This is my first show choice as I’m getting back into gear, so I’ve gotten off to a really good start!
