The new arrival stepped out of the carriage carefully, her eyes immediately falling on her new husband. Her smiled widened at him, a little hint of flirtation in her eyes. The two had recently had a simple wedding at the courthouse. Nothing extravagant for a widow and a widower who had both been married before. Now the day had finally arrived for she and her two daughters to move into their new home. As she walked on, eager to enter the house, she glanced at the young woman who was standing next to her husband; it was obviously Ella, her new would-be step daughter. Long golden locks framed her face, fresh skin and pink lips, a slight figure, eager eyes that were kind. She was not quite how she had imagined her to be.
“You did not say your daughter was so beautiful.”
