On the right, workers are tearing down a canopy that was built over Slots-a-Fun casino only less than two months earlier. The structure was found to cause problems with foot traffic, and was deemed an "eye sore" by Clark County commissioners.

Slots-a-Fun and Circus Circus c. 1977

The sign at Circus Circus was installed late ‘76, and named “Lucky the Clown” in a contest Jan. 1977. It reads, “All new midway” – owners Bennett & Pennington had remodeled the casino to separate the gamblers from the circus acts. 25¢ wins a new ‘77 Grand Prix. Photo: Pastpictures.
