playing videogames only on the weekends
along with soda and candy
and watching one episode of a show on each sunday
along with a pizza and a soda
i've started enjoying media a lot more than before
i am able to enjoy it more fully in the moment of it
and i am GENUINELY making good and lasting memories
the kinda memories sad adults get nostalgic over
taking your time to enjoy things
and not gorging yourself on media
makes a massive difference in enjoyment
the space between each time you do an activity
really adds to the enjoyment of the activity
your brain gets a chance to process the experience
and you get the time to look forward to and be excited for the next time
instead of anxiously trying to get things out of the way
in moments of pleasure without genuine enjoyment
taking things slow and just
allowing myself time to recover
between each time i do a ' fun ' thing
allows me to feel better when i do it
my highs are higher when i take breaks
and i get to experience the aftertaste between each time
i remember feeling so stressed and anxious before
when i was ' having fun ' frantically consuming media
and how muted the colours even when i wasn't anxious
i notice how vibrant and clear my enjoyment is now
i feel so much more and more clearly and there is more than one note
before the colours were muted and my enjoyment a one note tune
i will never get to experience every single media of this world
and i am going to miss out on A LOT of cool awesome amazing stuff
but what i do engage with and immerse myself with
i get to ACTUALLY enjoy fully and completely in the moment
i get to experience GENUINE enjoyment when experiencing media
and i get to make some amazing precious treasured beloved memories
i can not consume literally every single piece of media in the world
and honestly.........that is okay......and....
i am okay with missing out on stuff
i'd rather only experience a fraction of a fraction of a fraction
of all the amazing media in the world if i get to actually enjoy it
rather than miserably consume literally all the media in the world
