Don't you love it when you get an idea, test it, and it works? I've been using these watering stakes this year with some good success, but the downside is that it's a pain in the butt to pull them out, unscrew the stake, fill them up and return to position. Yesterday on a call with one of The Dirt writers, master gardener Michelle Shipton Cook, we were discussing watering methods and she asked me about the stakes. Then I had a flash. It would be similar to another method we were discussing if I cut off the end of the bottle. So I tested this morning. Huge success!
