Cat problems
@slowpcke
The cat pokemon could only stare at the ocean as it gently caressed the sands of the beach. His humans were small dots in the distance this point, lounging on their backs in the sun or whatever humans liked to do in this hellish environment.
Yes. It was a hellish place. When you feel at the mercy of water and if you sat down you’d only be opening yourself up to sand, the place that for some reason humans view as relaxing ends up as anything but. He was trying to keep on his toes, not wanting to get the sand all over him. Beach sand never went away, at least not for weeks. And considering his options for cleaning himself involved either his tongue or actual water, Meowth wasn’t keen on a tongue covered in sand or a bath.
It wasn’t until it was too late that he realized he had a problem. A much bigger problem than sand and sea. His eyes went to where the water was gently lapping the shore. Right there, in front of his eyes, was something incredibly shiny. It could be something valuable! Or it could just be something shiny! His body started to tense- he had to fight this urge! His species of pokemon loved shiny objects. They were supposed to collect them. Team Rocket loved things of value. Things that shined like that were often valuable.
But it was regularly being covered by a thin line of water as the waves lapped over the sand and shells. He wanted it. But he hated water. But he wanted it. But he hated water. The cat pokemon stood right on the line where the sand darkened to mud, the waves barely missing him as he stared longingly at the prize. “But how do I get my paws on it?”
The water pokemon waddles up to the Professor and sits at his feet. That's a lot of work for a slowpoke, so you know he must like you.

The professor watches the slowpoke from the time it starts it’s advancement to the time it finally reaches him, and he honestly doesn’t know what he expects to happen, but having the pokémon lay down on his shoes hardly comes as a surprise - even if he’s completely unprepared.
“…Yes, that’s very nice, but could you - ah - please move over a bit? I can’t really stand here for long. You see, I’ve got work to do, and…”
@slowpcke
Just before it was too late, Dedenne jumped off the lazy pokemon’s back. The mouse then ran in front, so that the two could see each other. He began to squeak angrily, about how he’d almost been crushed to death ( & beware, his cheeks are sparking ).

Feels like it’d be more a battle of attrition than anything, but Delta’s not one to turn down a sparring partner. Crouching into a playfully combative stance, the Vaporeon’s tail flicks from side to side eagerly. “ { I’m ready if you are. } ”
