honestly i don't know what x reader fics are oops

it’s when people write stories about themselves x a person. so like a popular one would be reader x dan. but then they’ll write ‘you’ or ‘y/n’ (your name) instead of a name so people can imagine themselves as the person

for fictional characters (like reader x harry potter or whatever) i don’t care, but the thought of thousands of stories involving a real, adult person and (often) underage readers is like.....gross?
