PawBox, a pet product sample box.
Even though I didn't do much this weekend, it was a great weekend because I got PawBox's 'It's Summer Box' in the mail-- a nice treat to wrap up National Dog Week!
Inside the box I found 5 different pet product samples (8 items in total as it came with 2 samples of some of the edible samples) and a note with product descriptions and a tip on how to check for hot pavement and other surfaces that could hurt our paws.
If you cannot keep your hand on the ground for 10 seconds without pulling away, it is unsafe for your dog.
The samples:
Harvest Blends (Sweet Potato flavor) from Exclusively Pet's Exclusively Dog Cookies line-- These chewy cookies smell like fall, so think cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, sweet potato, etc. I'm the definition of carnivore so I was a bit hesitant about the non-meaty smell, but guess what? I ate it all! They're about the size of a quarter, and they're wheat, corn and soy free.
Himalayan Dog Chew's Yaky Nugget (2 pouches)-- Made in Nepal, this is like smoked gouda for dogs. I'm familiar with this brand and I really, really loved seeing it in this PawBox.
The Missing Link (2 pouches)-- As you know, I have tried a couple of subscription boxes, but I have never seen this kind of supplements for dogs in any of the other boxes. It was exciting to see a different kind of item that's not a treat, toy, or pet care product. High in fiber, this supplement for dogs is made with natural ingredients (flaxseed, rice bran, sunflower seed, dried carrot, parsley, lechitin, etc.)
Healthy Motion for Joint Health, Mobility, and Strenght (2 pouches)-- These tablets contain glucosamine, an antioxidant blend, and an omega blend but should not be used without vet's approval. They smell like seaweed and come in the shape of a bone. I have a vet appointment coming up so I'll ask whether or not it is recommended for me.
Farfetched's Slurpabowl-- Portable and recyclable, this water bowl holds 2 cups of water and can be attached to your leach. It's been around for a couple of years now but didn't know it existed until now!
There was no toy in this particular PawBox but the natural supplements made up for it. When you go to PawBox's website and sign up, you'll see that you can actually choose your sample preferences (food, treat, grooming, toys, supplements).
According to PawBox, all products are picked out by a professional, certified dog trainer, which is good to know. Most importantly, PawBox subscriptions are much more affordable than other subscription boxes out there, so you can still discover new pet products and enjoy the excitement of a subscription box on a budget.
