Working on a big comic that is going to be available on gumroad once finished. It's a spicy one that's why
Back in... 2018 (!) I decided to do one of those 100 day project challenges. Spoiler: I didn't make it to 50 days :D I stitched a little sample to attach to an index card every day for... 40-something days.
Here are some of those small creations.
I just played with a different stitch, technique or material each day. Then stitched it to an index card. It was often kind of collage-y like these. Sometimes it was simpler. I often left raw edges to the fabric because it was supposed to be a 'quick experiment' each day. But of course I started complicating everything and it got too big for my brain so I stopped.
I have a nice collection of index cards now, that I can look back on!
(If you're interested in seeing the whole set, I have an album on flickr with all of them, as well as little notes from each day: https://www.flickr.com/photos/pardaloteflits/albums/72157702086732394/with/44761332845 )
Simon could never just ignore you. God, no matter how hard he had tried, he just couldn't.
May it be your eyes, or how you'd ask a question; no matter how dumb anyone else would ask, saying it. He just couldn't and so he avoided you. First it was just on base, turning around in the halls and meticulously crafting a routine to keep you away.
Well, then you learned his new routine. Which would've been fine if you hadn't had that puppy dog look. The one where his heart churned, looking at you as if your eyes were pleading to know what you did wrong.
So you had him hooked, as you followed him about his tasks and likewise for your own. He'd hate leaving you to deal with recruits and privates, mainly cause he hated the task himself.
He'd laugh at your jokes, with that gravel like rasp that left men to stir in their boots. It didn't matter to him about the reputation he had, if you felt uncomfortable, He'd appear.
Wedgwood pottery trial tray, 1773-1776.
"Each trial piece is marked with a number that corresponds to an entry in Wedgwood’s ‘Experiment Book’. Many pieces are impressed with the firing instructions, for example ‘TTBO’ for 'tip-top of biscuit oven’... On 1st January 1775 Wedgwood declared himself ‘absolute’ with his white jasper adding that he also had, ‘a beautifull Sea Green, and several other colours’, and that he was confident of being able to make pieces from the largest size to the smallest gems for rings. The name jasper, given to this new body, probably took its name from the natural mineral, which like its ceramic counterpart could range through a variety of colours. It took nearly 3,000 individual trials to perfect jasper, one of Josiah’s most important contributions to world ceramics." [V&A]
One of 3 ruffle samples I made for my shirt tutorial. The other 2 were for adding ruffles to the front slit and wristbands by machine, but this one's to show how different fullnesses of ruffle look, and I'm glad to have it on my wall for future reference.
