40 | How misanthropic are they?
if this question was personally given to hoseok to answer -- he'd definitely be giving a idiotic stare and drop of the jaw to match because as the dumbass he is he doesn't know what misanthropic means.
but on a scale of zero to ten, hoseok is a definite one -- because being completely zero would mean that he's oblivious as a babe and that he isn't; and putting him closer to ten would be a lie because hoseok honestly believes in more good than bad. his outlook on life is that "if one smiles, the worst can be easily brushed off." he's an, honest to merlin, optomistic male -- he got that from his dad. he likes making people smile and making himself smile in the process, seeing him without one must mean shit went down.
does chasing girls skirts count? just kidding, hoseok does that for fun but that doesn't mean he finds it a hobby. from the top of my head i can only think of probably three things?
dance / ever since hoseok was young, his mother had enrolled him in dance classes (at first, it was ballet -- a class he never told anyone about) and as he grew older he grew with the classes, transitioning from traditional footwork to more modern techniques. he doesn't brag about his dancing because he's not the type to show off but if asked he won't mind in busting a few moves.
piano / self-taught, in his home back in london -- there used to be a white grand piano in the back foyer of their home (it has since been moved to the upstairs loft), each day as a kid hoseok would walk past the instrument without giving it a second look, that is until he heard his dad playing it on one of the few days that he was home and not at quidditch practice during the off-season. as a young child, hoseok had saw opportunity to become like his father (a dream that soon fizzled out as he grew into his adolescent years) -- so seeing the sight of his father playing the piano, it instilled a type of determination to learn it as well -- to perhaps get his father to play alongside him someday. within the duration of two months and several weeks, hoseok learned how to play each key and play several different variations of notes and instrumentals. he had tried to show his parents but an opportunity never came and the hobby still comes in play just not as often as it did in the past.
silence / it's not a usual thing for hoseok to like the quiet but there are times where he just wants to sit in a place and not talk -- to stare off into space and have time with his thoughts. during these times, he usually gets out a stick and smokes a bit because at times like these it's most likely that's he's stressed out or agitated. most of the time he's talking and laughing and sometimes it's just nice to hear nothing, to say nothing and mewl into nothing. it's at these times that he wishes to be alone and not with anyone, not trying to make anyone smile, to make them laugh, to make them do things that they weren't before. he's all for putting everyone before himself but there are times when hoseok just wants to be selfish and be alone. it's a hobby of his to be quiet -- but sadly this hobby has become quiet frequent as of late.
42 | How far did they get in formal education? What are their views on formal education vs self-education?
well, hoseok is currently in school -- he's at hogwarts ... -- so it's not a matter of how far to answer this question but how diligent he is with his studies? hoseok was never the most ideal student but he does try (even when most of his efforts never seem to pay off like it does for others). he wasn't blessed with a photographic memory, though if he was he'd say that it'd be a horrid blessing. he doesn't find education much of a priority like his parents want it to be for him, he's much too nonchalant about it (much to his parents' dismay).
in the past years, he's received pretty mundane and over-average marks on his classes which was pretty good in his opinion. though beginning his seventh year, his parents had a stern talk with him concerning his future and what they expected of him. it's the only time (and pretty much the only reason) that has hoseok stressed is when it comes to his parents' expectations. they've let him off easy and go neglected for most of his life (not that he blames them, he isn't bitter about it) but the sudden interest in his future has him confused and lost of what to do -- whether to continue with his carefree outlook on life or to buckle down and be what his parents want him to become ; he's never made big decisions before -- always deciding to step back and let life take it's course but apparently that's not how it was going to be this year.
his views on formal education and self-education are pretty simple -- he isn't one for discrimination and he isn't likely to think too hard about such a question. hoseok believes that those who have the opportunity should grab it and those who don't should make what they can and thrive. whichever they wish to pursue is their choice and no one should force they to go through with something that won't make them happy in the long run (it's the complete opposite opinion of what his parents are currently trying to enforce on him).
does merlin count? hoseok doesn't really tie himself with any sort of religion -- not that he can truly say that he's a saint or a true devil, honestly. but he does know that there is a higher power up there that watches over everything. oh, and he does believe in hades -- a tad bit, just from stories that his nanny used to tell him as a child.
44 | Superstitions or views on the occult?
he was still a mere babe when the voldemort-events came into play, so he can't exactly say that he believes things or doesn't because of the fact that he doesn't exactly remember the events of those things and since it is 2013 -- it's safe to say that no one really mentions of old events.
45 | Do they express their thoughts through words or deeds?
hoseok is pretty good with boths -- though he believes actions are stronger, he knows that words are deeper. it's easy to get hoseok tongue-tied, though, he's much too nice to think of ill-things, if he does the person responsible for such thoughts must have pissed him off or done something that made him think so. hoseok would never say anything bad outright and he's quick to say nice remarks to those even if they don't deserve it. if he's spoken illy to, he just brushes it off and scoffs, not saying anything except for a "shut your yip" all the while a smile still on his face.
with actions, hoseok has done a few things that have caused a raise of eyes and it isn't rare to see him being forceful (in a passionate way, mind you). if he has his mind set (sometimes it's easy to change but it depends on the situation), he'll go forth with what he wants to do -- actions all the way, he'll disregard his mind and won't lose time for words.
46 | If they were to fall in love, who (or what) is their ideal?
do hwaeji. to put it plainly, hoseok just wants a simple girl -- not anyone who fronts or fakes things. despite all the girls he tries to get with, has gotten with and lusts after, he knows the type of girl he wantsto be with (as in the real thing) is someone he can be comfortable with, and knows he'll never grow bored of her; the one he can search ages for and know when he's found them that all that hard work and years of yearning was worth it. even if they were cake-faced, brace-plated, or had the sickest accent, as long as he was able to be comfortable with them and know that despite anything he can only look at them and only them, well then -- that's that. he's a romantic at heart despite what people think or see of him.
47 | How do they express love?
well, giving gifts is out of the question because hoseok is probably the worst littlest shit at gift-giving, this is why no one expects presents from him because he sucks. he either goes too big or too small. but hoseok is an affectionate person, he'd probably enjoy holding his loved one for long periods of time despite their complaints -- he's the protective type. he'll listen and be quiet when needed, be the one and make sure he's the only one that can make them smile the brightest. not sure if he'd be public about his love but he's sure behind closed doors, he'll show his loved one that they're the only one for him. (only one of his past girlfriends has been able to witness this, the others simply got bits and pieces.)
48 | If this person were to get into a fist fight, what is their fighting style like?
he'd curl into a ball and die. lol well, that would mean that he'd have to get into a fight first and to put it honestly, hoseok had never gotten into a fight willingly. he was in one once, a year before he was accepted into hogwarts -- a kid was bullying a friend of his, hoseok had tried to talk the bully out of the fight but it ended sourly, and hoseok took a hit to the face -- fed up with fruitless tries at getting the bully to stop hitting him, he lunged and began fighting, tackling the other boy -- it wasn't hard considering hoseok had always been one of the taller kids on the block. though fast-forwarding to now, hoseok would probably be more pacifistic about it and try his hardest to evade a fist-fight or any fight at that matter.
