3. What is your happy place and why?

My parents’ house. It’s like a sanctuary, time stops, there’s enough room for eight adults to relax yet it’s cozy. There are a million books to read, a million records to play on my dad’s bitchin stereo, coffee + donuts until it’s time for wine + dinner, foooooood for days. It’s a gorgeous, two corner, fenced-in lot with a 2500 sq. ft. Victorian. And of course, my parents - they’re amazing people who I still learn from and they still learn from us - including my sister’s daughters.

8. What is the movie/book/tv show that made you think a lot or made you change something about yourself?

Princess Leia (so Star Wars) was the first character I recall having an impact of the way I thought and felt. I’ve read the Hunger Games trilogy at least three times, so I’d say Katniss also has had an impact on me. Buffy and Faith, Buffy and Angel (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) -- their relationships resonate with me to this day. And, finally, Supernatural -- now and for years to come with make me think.

18. Do you have a person in your life that makes you feel special or a person that you feel like you’re soulmates with?

I think this has changed through the years, and I’ve been smart enough to only keep the ones who care about me as I do them. (I will also say that I’m thankful, but I want to drive the point of intention and choice here.) 

I don’t necessarily believe in soul mates, but my longest lasting friends here, only ONE of whom I’ve met in person, are some of the closest people to something like that. In no particular order, @glassjacket @boondoctorwho @cracksinthewalls @icemankazansky @stusbunker @fangirlxwritesx67 @maddiepants @justcallmeasmodeus are more than casual friends.

My family, my husband, and my friends here in the mountains, co-workers, my best friend/adoptive sister on the front range -- all so special to me.

You’re in luck. I was done for the night but I saw this just as I was shutting everything down and I’ve had an idea I wanted to try so you get to be the guinea pig! This is a sort of divination using the proverbs from the openings of Welcome to Night Vale. I put the episode numbers into a random generator and you got 51, “Rumbling”.

Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes you really want to stick your middle finger up to that saying. Or your neck, ostrich. Your periscopesque neck. If you’re tired of being broadsided by inevitable events, then it’s time to get your head out of the sand and keep a better eye out for them. Doing what you can to foresee every possibility will allow you to prepare for them and maybe even step out of their way, or alter the plan. Either way, be attentive, and you’ll see the future coming.

Dude. Maybe my dark tolerance is just exceptionally high, but I just read Good Vibrations and didn't see anything that scandalous? Nothing worse than canon? I mean, if canon wasn't on the CW anyways. It's totally plausible content. If that got people's panties in a twist, they sure as shit don't want to read any of my stuff. Quality angst. :p I approve. The ‘scandal’ was the act that Dean performs midway, the entire basis of the fic. Apparently, some people found it ‘irresponsible’ and ‘horrible’ that i would ‘use beloved, saintly Dean who never had done anything wrong ever in his life’ to write such a horrible story. 

*shrug* 

and then there are people who tell me it’s the greatest thing they’ve ever read and I should publish it and win awards. Who knows...

Ugh. I feel you. I’ve had several comments comparing a fic of mine to Twilight because vampire/werewolf/human. Twilight was not a thing when I started it. Had zero influence on the story. They look nothing alike. The creature ratio is the literal only similarity. Kind of ruined the whole fic trilogy for me.

Exact same issue as mine :\ I don’t even remember the name of the movie off the top of my head (and I refuse to go look at that comment because of how disheartening it was the first time), but that was the exact “connection”. My fic just happens to have a similar creature to the movie but it doesn’t even act the same, as far as I can tell??? And I’m kind of blowing the comment out of proportion maybe? As in; it wasn’t meant to be rude, at least I don’t think it was, but it was just so hard not to take it poorly, you know?

I'm participating in a Reverse Bang (Crowley) and was lamenting to my bang buddy about the struggle to find a beta. She pointed me here. I gotta say, this place looks pretty cool. I'm relatively new to the SNP fandom. I only started the series about a year ago. But I've been writing fic for 15 years and ran a HP archive called Diagon Alley back in the day. Before that, I admined a critique group on Yahoo. Tumblr is all new to me, tho. I don't know where I'd go. But I'm open to being a beta.
