Autumn has arrived. The summer garden is almost done. It seemed just a little harder to get out the door to run in the chilly wind. I did it though and I enjoyed the run along the beach even though I was running straight into the southerly wind. I only lingered in the garden a short while when I got home, Just long enough to capture some of the last blooms and watch two butterflies flitting around the sunflowers.

It was a little warmer out today so I was keen to run after work despite feeling tired. I ran into the forest and over the small hill. The track over the hill was pretty muddy and slippery but I made it over with just a few splashes on my tights. The tide was right in when I got to the beach. There was not much beach to run on but I gave it a go and made it to the other end without drama. Soccer practice was in full swing at the park so I could not do my sprint across the fields tonight. It was dark by the time I got home.
Pictures from yesterdays run and post run walk around the garden. It was quite windy out there. Not hot at all but man did I work up a sweat. I have signed up for the Christchurch Marathon doing the half so a training plan is in order.
That was a freezing cold run. I am so glad I wore a wind proof jacket. Nice to have the beach to myself and nice to run with the wind at my back on the homeward leg. The nicest part was foam rollering in front of the fire.
It was so overcast at Friday lunchtime run o’clock. I was late getting out the door. I had a deadline. I missed it by a few minutes but no one seemed to notice. I ran into the forest and up the little hill, down the other side to the beach then along the beach watching the waves and listening to them boom and home past the golf course and 1 fast for me 50 mitre dash across the park and home.
