The Small Hunter
Chasing down a madman among the madness the hunter had faced was no surprise to them but, what surprised them was how things turned out. “Shit!” They cursed under their breath as the blade broke free from their hands, they fell to their side from the force from the tentacles the madman released upon them, Micolash’s grin grew as he crouched over them, his hand roughly gripped their jaw, Their hands shot up and attempted to remove his hands before glaring up at him in defeat
“What a filthy mouth you have~’ he cooed his grin glueing into a smirk ‘We’ll just have to clean it!” He says as sudden cheeriness bursts suddenly from his voice. He ignores their struggle before slinging them under his arm like box or luggage. They hold an annoyed face as the madman practically is prancing down the foggy halls with his new ‘friend’.
“We shall talk feverish about new ideas, of the higher plane!”'he announces excitedly imagining something only he can see as he carries them to the upper parts of Mergo’s loft, They’re silent and knowing that they are doomed to a mad man.
“What is your name?” He asks they’re silent refusing to grant him their voice or name
“Well I must know my new friends name!” He announces as they tense slightly annoyed at his picks at them
“Well I must say your quiet tiny for a hunter.” He comments by now they are very tense now, their teeth are grinding together and their brows twitched
“What are you 5 feet? 4'11?” He says they finally break under small jabs at them
“I’m not small!” They shout struggling in his arm, he grins watching them for a moment, he giggles then takes them from under his arm, holds them up like a small animal as they struggled
“Then why are you so easy to carry and pick up, why don’t I have any struggle what so ever with you? Hm small Hunter?” He says with snide clearly in his voice
“I mean I can’t even comprehend to think how you even got it this far” his words stung because they were true, their face crumbled down as they thought about how they only made this far because of cooperative hunters. The madman had no idea his words would hurt the hunter he had expected yell and fight but now he messed up and hurt his new friend.
“I…” They couldn’t defend themselves anymore, Tears pecked at their eyes, their lip trembled. In that moment they looked like a sad little hunter. “Oh don’t cry small Hunter.” He calls to them before he cradles them into his arms, their head resting in the crook of his shoulder, he holds up their legs by a single arm, his other pets their head. They close their eyes as the tears over flow down their flushed cheeks.
“Your very adorable.” He says
“Attractive and strong.”
“Fearless and brave.”
He continues to whisper these kind things into their ear till they’ve calmed their crying. They’re in a sleepy state after the tears they shed, His footsteps are distant even though he’s the only one walking up the metal stairs with them. “
What’s your name? If don’t answer I’ll just keep calling you small Hunter.” He teases attempting again to get a name from them, They opened their eyes slightly, They whisper their name to him before letting their eyes fall shut again. He smiles and brushes their cheeks of any remaining tears.
When they wakes up they’re in a rocking chair, the blood stained clothes they once wore are replaced by a college robes and pants just like Micolash’s but their size. “Where…” They mutter before sitting up and looking around. A dim fire place crackles, another rocking chair is opposite of them, a couch with a table in the middle, the rest of the room is surrounded by bookshelves built into the walls with two arch ways dividing them.
“Good afternoon.” They jump at his sudden voice as he comes from behind them
“Oh.. Good afternoon.”
“Did you sleep well?”
“Yes…” They say quietly
“Do your clothes fit to your likings?” They simply nod
Silence falls between hunter and madman
“Is something the matter?” He is quick to notice their quietness
They looked confused for a moment before looking up at him
“Why haven’t you killed me?” They asked a stern look coating their face
He seems a bit taken back by the question “Because I have you now.. If I killed you now..” He pauses, leaning into them bringing their face close to his
“You’d just come back over and over again but your mine now in my clutches, Still small but now helpless or rather defenseless.” He says their eyes are wide, full of slight fear, this look brings smile to his lips like he knows he put fear in them and pulls back satisfied with the look in their eyes.
“I’ve been so lonely, Everyone has died around me and… the ones who haven’t, want to kill me but you.. Were weaker than the others, easy to catch.” He says his grin returning
“I’m not animal to caught.” They tell him glaring, He only grins bitterly
“Your majestic like one.” He says their glare seems to harden his face softens
“Come on Hunter lighten up.. How can we make this work?” He says their face twisting into slightconfusion
“Make what work?” They ask, anger still laced in their voice
“Our new friendship of corse!” He says excitement bursts from each word
“We don’t have a friendship!” They hissed, he pulls them close once again, a smile carved into his face
“We do now.” He hissed back as they struggle to get away from him
“Your my friend now.” He said gripping their jaw
“I’m not!” Their shouting as if trying to get the point to him but he only smiles as flexed his finger forward just as they were about to question what he was doing they felt a sharp prick in their neck
A hiss escaped them as they shoved him away, he smiled as he watched them stagger backwards attempting to run only to stagger half way out the arch way before collapsing with a thud.
They weren’t unconscious only paralyzed. He walked towards them slowly his steps echoed throughout the room gently, he couched down them with sadistic smile they glared silently unable to form a single word but their eyes spoke to him. Before he moved he noticed angry tears bumbling up in their eyes before they spoke
“I hate you.”
He chuckled lightly as he slung their arm over his shoulder, slid his arm under their knees, carried them like a groom would to a bride.
Their glare was practically piercing his skull “you don’t have to make such a scary face… I always wanted a companion to speak feverishly with.” He said a slightly sadness in his voice, making their glare softened for a moment. He climbed stairs for what seemed like hours till he reached the floor he had been searching for, their floor. Entering their new room he had been thinking on it would fit to all they’re expectations.
He smiled as he laid them on the bed “I hope we can be good friends soon..” he said quietly petting their head one last time before leaving them in their new room still paralyze The door shuts and clicks are heard, silence falls.
