Thirteen Experimental Small Transport Aircraft
This aircraft was developed by Nihon Aircraft (Japan Aircraft Manufacturing Co., Ltd.) with reference to Fairchild's flying boat, and it was the only amphibious aircraft in the Imperial Japanese Navy at the time. The prototype, completed in 1942, had handling difficulties and struggled with getting airborne from water, and due to the deteriorating war situation reducing the need for small transport aircraft, it was not adopted.
