Clantober day 3. Alone

I thought to do the Battle at Rapids Cross for today's prompt, but then I learnt that I do not know how to draw water, so instead here is Smallbranch learning that the Travellers are separated from their clans forever.

Smallbranch was one of the chosen. She was one of the most reluctant to go, remembering strongly all of the nursery tales that her mother had told her about the dark forest and their betrayal, she naturally didn’t want to trust Iris. Despite this, when she told Cinderstar of Thunderclan about the dream, they insisted that she should meet up with the other chosen warriors in the Four Clans.

When she got to The Valley, Smallbranch became a highly valued member of the team, helping keep the fresh kill pile stocked 24/7, and teaching the teammates who didn’t know how to hunt in woodland the best way about it. Being rather small in stature was a great help at first, before the clan created hunting trails, as the woodland was rather wild and overgrown. Being able to just go under brambles was a heck of a lot easier than finding a different path around.

Much to her joy dismay, she found Iris in her dreams a lot. Sometimes in order to give a message that the leader or medicine cat, or sometimes to check on how she’s doing. Smallbranch is told that Iris does this with all of the chosen, just to hide her true reasons. After a while, she opens up to Iris a bit more and vice versa, and she finds herself growing a bit of a crush on our dearly departed.

Smallbranch takes every opportunity in greenleaf and newleaf to bring prey by the Cave of Paws and share with their starry friend. Once, she tried to take food to her during leaf-bare, but Iris refused to eat any so long as prey did not run well.

plants are better than furniture. you don’t even need furniture when you think about it.

If you have a really big plant it could even BE furniture I guess....

that doesn’t seem all that revolutionary. a lot of powers are already genetic so it’s given that modifying genes would produce something. and even if you wanted to how would you pick the right strand of dna out of the gajillion in just one person.

You see, that's the thing. If I'm correct, this would let us single it down to a comparatively small amount of strands. It's not much, but the potential is overwhelming!

Perhaps... Perhaps I'm just overly excited. I've been looking for something like this for years, to be this much closer has me drunk with anticipation..
