Small milkweed bug has a neat life cycle. Incomplete metamorphosis for this bug. The baby bug is a smaller version of the adult with some differences. It sheds the exoskeleton five times similar to the monarch caterpillar. In my garden I found the small milkweed bugs pairing. Discovered a full grown small milkweed bug immediately after shedding the exoskeleton. Couldn't spot any nymphs today. These bugs feed on sap from milkweed and winter in the soil. #smallmilkweedbug #LygaeusKalmii
