His response almost made her laugh. The keyword being almost. Though there was a part of Callie that missed finding his dad jokes funny and being slightly embarrassed when he intentionally did dumb things to make her blush, especially around her friends. But it seemed like the rift that had formed because of certain actions that she wasn't privy too, ripped that away, and she remembered why smiling at his t-rex joke wasn't appropriate, "Right..."
Going back over to her bed, she sat down and reached under the pillow where she had stashed the vape pen. It was a brazen move, but at this point in time, did it really matter? He already knew what she had been doing and the window was open now. Plus, it's not like her mom was home to come scold her, too, "Does it scare you? Knowing that your every move is being watched without someone actually...watching you..." She realized what she was saying didn't make as much sense as she had hoped, but whatever, "Oh, so it's okay then if I just..." Callie stuck the pen up to her lips and inhaled deeply, before blowing it out towards the window and turning her head back towards Jeff to greet him with a smile.
Once upon a time he would have had her in a fit of giggles. Begging him to stop all while still laughing, red in the face from how hard she laughed. It'd been a while since that had happened, but that doesn't stop him from hoping that he'll get a reaction out of her this time. He doesn't and it doesn't surprise him, only slightly disappointing him, but Jeff chalks it up to her being too old for his silly dad jokes anymore. He had thought he'd have at least a couple more years of her indulging him in his humor, but he also knows things have been stressful. She's been drawing back from him, and Shauna for that matter, for a while now.
Standing there, he watched Callie move back to her bed and pulled the vape out. There really wasn't much use in hiding it, not when he and her mother had noses and knew what pot smelled like. "Hmm? Oh...kinda odd. Unnerving," he admitted with a shrug of his shoulders as he moved to lean against her dresser. Arms folded across his chest as he watched her, lips pursing into a thin line as he did so. "Might as well enjoy it while you've got it. 'Cause I'm going to take it once I leave this room..." he told her, lips tugging up into a small smile as brows arched.
