how a bimbo (who’s actually a genius in lip gloss) revises for A grades 💄📓✨
just because i wear pink, doesn’t mean i don’t get As! 💖
haiiii hunnie bunniez!!
in homage to exam/gcse/a-levels/finals szn, and also with my exams that started TODAY, i thought i would make a how-to guide, to basically cram, or revise effectively with such little time!!
yes!! i have been revising!! and it's been really effective!! but now with no school in session thanks to the amazeblogs one week break us UK girlies have, i'll give you guys some super tips, as a non academic girlie, on the best revision methods that managed to get me all As (and 1 B in the subject i literally despised) in my gcses!!
past papers/exam questions
literally your best friend!! these worked literal wonders guys. luckily, with past papers, the mark scheme is there aswell. not only can you see what kind of questions will be in the real exam, but you can time yourself like you're in the exam and realistically see where you are
2. blurting
i only started this a few weeks before my exams, but when i tell you this is so helpful, it's so helpful. the thing is, when you blurt, you take everything you already have in your head, and spill it out. and what makes it even better, is that if you find out you know next to nothing, you can go back and learn the content (revision guides with active practise!!) and then blurt again!!
3. teaching my plushies!!
yes, it sounds utterly ridiculous, but it works!! especially if you need to do a presentation as a contribution to your grade (English language and foreign languages girlies i'm looking at you xx). try and act like they know absolutely NOTHING about your topic and say it simple terms. for me, as i study drama a level, i need to be able to explain to the examiner why i make the choices i decided in terms of acting, set design, etc. this method is super helpful for this!
4. flashcards
these are really good for recall. learning equations for my stem girlies or learning terms for my languages girlies, it's really helpful. what i like to pair it with, studying German a level, is writing. by writing the terms or equations i don't know, i absorb them much easier!! don't rely on flashcards though, because you may not know how to actually structure your answers when it comes to the exam.
i hope this helps and if you want me to make specific guides of how to get As in subjects (apart from history, comp science, economics and music because i didn't do those, and bio, because i despised it) then lmk!!
luv you 27,000
xoxo, wonda
