Ghost Story: (Tagged by smartcuss: Survey (Part Two))
10) Do you have any ghost stories?
Yes.
In my second year of film school, I entered a week-long film festival with a group of my friends.
Our first set was at an abandoned house off the side of the highway and due to time restraints, we had to shoot from 11 PM to early morning hours.
It was summer (in Texas) and really, really hot and I'd never been to the house, nor been told it was haunted (this is important to show I wasn't LOOKING for proof of ghosts), but my friends had scouted it out two days earlier.
Something you should know about this house- the living room was the largest room and was surrounded by four lined-up windows on each side. All the windows were blown out. There was electrical wiring sticking out of the ceiling and walls as if someone had tried to rip it out. The entire living room was a mess with overturned sofas and chairs and newspapers from years dating all the way back to the late sixties.
But there was a single wooden chair upright in the center of the room and from there to the door, the floor was covered in bullet casings.
The basement, which we avoided, was apparently covered in some sticky purple liquid and there was overturned furniture sticking out of the goo. My director checked that out- I wasn't present.
The hallway leading to the living room (from the front door) had an overturned bookcase and the hallways past it were so dark we didn't bother trying to explore.
...it was probably not the safest place to be as young college students in the middle of the night and probably sounds like the setting to some horrible horror movie, but that was the point. Our film was going to be a horror/fantasy and we needed a scary location.
