Smart Design Mart 2012

Last night we headed out Smart Design Mart being held in a HUGE warehouse space just down the street from us. In addition to a great selection of art, design and craft, there was also an amazing selection of vintage clothing, objects and curiosities. 

We walked away with a beautiful large lightning jar (I have a dozen of them already but had never seen a big one like this).

The fabulously odd world of artist/vintage weirdiosity merchant Billy Mavreas, co-owner of wicked neighbourhood store/gallery Monastiraki

Beautiful artist patches and pillow cases featuring artwork by Ohare Hale, part of a series of artist designed textiles curated by the Stay Home Club.

Free cotton candy! My daughter Nina was pleased.

We also ate a very very expensive ginger bread man and somehow managed to resist these chocolates by Saveurs Cao.

This place is truly immense. Over 35000 square feet of vendors, and other activities including live art by En Masse (my camera died before i got a shot of their lovely black and white mural).

Smart Design Mart is at 5505 Casgrain and is open today (until 6pm) and tomorrow (from 12-5pm). It's  absolutely worth the trip!
