Durga Challenge Day 4: 🌸Lotus🌸 – 🌀REBIRTH🌀 – Ardha or Full Eka Pada Urdhva Danurasana Durga's lotus flower is a symbol for the power of rebirth after death. The lotus can only bloom on the surface, if its roots are firmly anchored far below in the deep dark mud. This legendary spiritual flower is also symbolic of the authentic soul beauty that comes as a result of first doing the difficult deep shadow work in one's own inner underworld. Here I am pictured doing an alternative for today's pose. Due to an old hamstring attachment injury, I cannot extend a leg up right now. So instead I am rising up onto the fingertips and toes in order to embody the radiance, upliftment, and beauty of today's teaching. Honoring yourself, your body, your injuries, and your current place along the death/birth cycles IS beautiful and an essential part of this deep work we must all do on the spiritual path.
