Some thoughts on Sailor Moon Crystal Season Three:
Though some moments are tender with Usagi and Mamoru, Mamoru is still an absolute creep. I can’t get over season one. I do like how paternal he is with Chibiusa though. Even if they did make out, and probably bang off screen *shudders* I really miss 90′s Michiru. I was watching some old clips of Haruka and Michiru from the 90′s anime, and Michiru was hilarious. She trolled every situation and flirted with Haruka even though they faced death on numerous occasions. Their pillow talk in the middle of battle was great, and I find this sorely missed in Crystal.
Speaking of which, I’m not liking all this Haruka/Usagi nonsense. I know it was in the manga, but I feel it’s going a bit overboard. Haruka seems to have pushed Michiru aside for Usagi, and I can’t see Michiru being thrilled about that. Their little jealousy was charming throughout the 90′s anime (Haruka flirting with the maid when she was sick, Michiru asking Seiya to unzip her dress-it’s possible we could see this though). I could be wrong, but I’m seeing more Haruka/Usagi than Haruka/Michiru. Booo
On the subject of “who is the messiah omg?” ...who the fuck you think it’s going to be, Sailor Mercury?! Nothing against Merc, she’s my fourth favorite Senshi, but come on, let the other girls have some fun.
Other than that, I’m enjoying Season Three much better than the previous two. The art direction is great, though it does have it’s hit and misses, like Kaolinite looking too weird in some scenes in this last episode
....Speaking of Kaolinite, she’s been essentially useless this season (I have to go back and read the manga for her parts) but I found her fantastic in the 90′s anime, she was probably my second favorite villain of the entire series, and to see her reduced to...this...was pretty sad.
