You don't have to be enough. Jesus was enough. Yes, I call you to be perfect, but when you mess up you just have to say sorry and try to change. Intend to be better. If you say sorry, but you don't mean it, you are lying and have just committed another sin. But he will forgive you, just mean it in your heart and try.
He's a merciful God. He loves you.
He doesn't want to be angry with you, but sometimes he has to, or else you'll never come back. If you never come back, there's only this cruel world and a worse one left after.

Bible backings for the uneasy:
'Therefore, go and give this message to Israel. This is what the LORD says: “O Israel, my faithless people, come home to me again, for I am merciful. I will not be angry with you forever.' Jeremiah 3:12 NLT
"Therefore be perfect, as your father in heaven is perfect." Matthew 5:48
'Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.”' John 18:36, Explanation of how this goes with post: if you're separated from him, you cannot be part of his kingdom(Heaven). You are confined to this world which is "(We know that we are from God, and) the whole world lies in the power of the evil one(Satan)." So yeah. Cruel world.
"You shall not lie."/"You shall not bear false witness" Exodus 20:16
And for the 'Oh, but that was talking about Israel and not general people???' "There is neither jew nor gentile, free nor slave in Christ." You can look that one up, hope it helps!
HINT for those who need it: Do not take this as 'oh I'm trying it's fine'. "Faith without works is dead", so if you ain't working to try to be better, or if there ain't no evidence that work has been done, take some time to think about it. Even if you're stuck in a limbo of sorts, "just keep swimming"-Dory.
