no-hand-outs:
“Well if you know…then why ya out here so late at night?” Well, of course you definitely know it’s for the bus, i mean.
the bus runs this fucking late, and you’re here for it too, so what was the point of that question, kid?
Oh. Right.
striking conversation.
Though you’re quickly showing how socially awkward you can be at time, while you shuffled around where you stand, and tap the tip of your boots against the ground—which you’re wearing because, you know, you have a job to do tonight, unbeknownst to everyone but your damn self.
“why the cane, too? you look kinna young to be walkin’ around with a third leg.” Gee, you’re so considerate of other people’s feelings.
“Spine issues,” Smiles grunts. “Other stuff’s none of your business.”
They’d managed to get a part-time job working as a cashier at a video rental place, but it was in a scummy part of town and they didn’t like being leered at by the patrons. Money was money though, and they could sit down on the job, so it was better than nothing.
“I’m... just going home,” they mumble at the ground.
[no-hand-outs] "walking alone at this time a night isn't safe, you know." he murmured as he stood at the crossing light next to this bandanna wearing stranger. Word of advice was always a thing he liked giving to strangers, especially knowing people like him existed.
Smiles glances at the individual beside them. They’ve got their own hood up, face hidden except for their eyes. Where was the goddamn bus? “Yeah, I know. Thanks.”

The sodium glow of the streetlights feels a lot more revealing than it probably is as the two of them approach the abandoned building. It soars black and monolithic into the washed-out sky, sooty brick and broken windows. On other nights, Smiles had seen them lit up, way up on the top floors, and only ever one or two. None were lit tonight.
“So do you actually know anything about this place?” Caleb’s fiddling with the night vision on his camera, testing it to make sure it works. They’d double checked everything at home, but Smiles supposed they were both nervous. His hair is sticking to his round cheeks in the summer night’s heat. “Is it like... a factory or what?”
Smiles looks at him. “I dunno. Why’s it matter?”
“Cuz you wanna know what kind of ghosts, like, are they gonna be workers who got crushed in machinery, or people who jumped to their death, or... i dunno, gangsters or whatever.”
“They’re just gonna show up as shadows or orbs anyway, who cares.”
“You wanna ask them questions, that’s how you get stuff happening. You saw the show-”
“Just, let’s go.” Smiles pushes him toward the building. The door in front is padlocked but there was probably a window they could get in through. The crack heads living here had to get in and out somehow. “We’ll figure it out once we actually find a ghost.” This was his stupid idea anyway. If they got stabbed by some homeless guy in an abandoned building, it’d be on him.
I was told to ask Smiles why they wanna fuck Bigfoot
I know, this is my blog. I can read everything fishface posts on it.
I don’t want to fuck Bigfoot, I swear to god. I just think all the Bigfoot content on this site is funny.
“nnnnno. n o.” jeez, was it that weird for him to be visiting such an illustrious and secretive headquarter like this particular one which acronym he forgets so often? “I’m just….visiting! hyehyehyehye!” Ammy’s tonge slipped out between his teeth and licked at his snout, before sliding back casually into his mouth. He looked the stranger over, eyes squint slightly behind his hot pink framed glasses, absolutely casual just for the sake of the whole “visiting” bit. “ooooh, i like your bandana!” and just like that, the dog was one not to keep his paws to himself, as he seemed to reach for the other’s face mask. “didya make it yerself or?”
Smiles quickly grabs the bandanna and hobbles back a step. “Yeah. Please don’t touch it, I kinda... I need it to be able to go outside. Are you here to see someone in particular or were you just gonna come look at the animals in the zoo?” While the second option was technically allowed, it was frowned upon by the residents who didn’t enjoy being treated like a spectacle.
"woof wood wat's for lunch" asked the obviously enormous talking dog.
“Holy shit.” Smiles isn’t sure why she’s so surprised. She knows a talking animate skeleton. A talking dog shouldn’t be that big of a surprise. “...are you a new resident?”
