Smite! Neith & Sobek!
➩ Sobek, the guardian of the Nile River gets an unexpected visitor, who is none other than his mother Neith. Neith is there to seek her son's attention again and for them to finally spend sometime together.
When she brings the idea up to Sobek, is at first he is surprised, but how could he resist such a lovely evening with his mother after so long?
➩ Reader type: none.
⚠: Family Fluff between mother and son.
Sobek, the mighty crocodile god, lay submerged in the cool waters of the Nile, his piercing eyes just above the surface, vigilant for any signs of intruders.
His dark skin and green scales shimmered under the sunlight, blending seamlessly with the river's murky depths.
His focus was unyielding, a testament to his role as the guardian of the sacred waters.
One day, as the sun of Ra cast its warm glow upon the river, Sobek felt a powerful presence approaching. His instincts sharpened, preparing for a potential threat.
To his surprise though, the figure that emerged from the waters nearby was none other than Neith, his mother and a goddess of creation, wisdom and weaving.
Neith wiped her dark wet locks back from her face, revealing her beauty in all its glory.
Her tanned skin shimmered after being in touch with the waters. Her robes hung heavily onto her body, yet she still moved gracefully in them as she made her way towards her son.
Her regal and powerful presence radiated strength and wisdom. But also a familiar feeling to Sobek, that of comfort and a loving, gentleness towards him.
"Mother! There is no need to enter the mortal realm like this.." Sobek expressed, slightly worried for his mother's safety
Why did she always choose such strange entrances whenever they met?
"Sobek, my son!" Neith chuckled softly, her voice echoing across the tranquil river. She cups her son's crocodile face like features from under the waters with her hands lovingly.
Bending down as she gives her offspring a kiss on the forehead.
"I thought it was time we spent some time together!"
Sobek, initially taken aback by his mother's unexpected gesture and visit, rises from the water, scales glistening as he swiftly lifts his mother, who compared to him was smaller in size.
Neiths eyes widened for a moment but she couldn't help but laugh at being carried by her son.
Sobek places her upon the edge of the Nile river, where she could sit secured from its dangers and dry off in peace.
"Mother," he responded with a mixture of surprise and delight, "what brings you here to the heart of the Nile?"
Neith smiled, her gaze full of maternal affection. "I wanted to share a moment with you, my fierce guardian. You've been diligently protecting these waters, and I wanted to see you in action."
Pride swelled within Sobek as he stood taller, acknowledging his mother's recognition.
"Well I am always ready to defend the sacred Nile, Mother. It's my duty."
Neith claps her delicate slender hands together happily, she truly felt so proud to be his mother and what a good man and guard he had become.
"Duty is important, my son, but so is the bond between a mother and her child."
She reached out, gently placing a hand on Sobek's scaly snout. "Let us take a moment to connect, beyond the roles we play, please?"
Sobek, moved by his mother's touch, nodded. It was sudden, it admittedly made him a little emotional.
"Yes, Mother. I would be honoured to.."
As they spent time together near the Nile river, because Sobek could not leave his position as its guardian.
Neith and Sobek still managed to share stories and laughter with each other.
Reminiscing of the past when Sobek was young and the times when Neith kept him out of trouble.
The river echoed with the warmth of their connection, a testament to the divine bond between mother and son.
Related by blood or not, just the bond they shared meant more than anything!
The usually fierce and vigilant guardian found solace in the presence of his mother, realising that even gods needed moments of familial joy.
